|The Service for 2014 was held on Thursday 14 August at 7.45pm at the St Andrew’s Cathedral. The Bishop Dr Wee Boon Hup, President of NCCS & Bishop of the Methodist Church in Singapore was the speaker. The message was on “ Arise O Lord!” taken from Psalm 9: 19.
The service was well attended by well over 900 worshippers. Apart from several church pastors and leaders, Ministers, Members of Parliament and their spouses, 40 overseas delegates from the global family of the United Bible Societies also attended the event.
- Members of the Executive Board and heads of denominations participated in the main service as worship leaders.
The worship team was led by musicians and vocalists from the NDTS Vocal group who served as the backup singers; Mar Thoma Syrian Church Choir and St Thomas Orthodox Syrian Cathedral Choir rendered the Malayalam and Syriac song items; the Singapore Life Church Choir, the Chinese song items and Voices Of Praise, an interdenominational Choir rendered us the English song. Mr Ernest Kwok, playing the guitar solo, rendered us a lovely medley of songs too. The Wesley Soli Deo Gloria Ensemble conducted by Jusuf Kam supported the event with their excellent orchestral music items.
The event was made possible by the support and participation by pastors and leaders from the various churches in organising for the event, supporting it financially and participating in the various programme items to make it a memorable and inspiring worship to the praise and glory of God! We wish to thank all who have contributed to its success and made it memorable one way or another.
