JDOP 2015 event

Jubilee Day of Prayer (JDOP), 05 July 2015
Venue: Singapore Sports Hub

JDOP was held on Sunday, 5 July 2015 at 4.14 p.m. and ended at 7:14 p.m.. It was co-organised by the National Council of Churches in Singapore and the Evangelical Fellowship of Singapore. It was supported by the Singapore Baptist Convention, the Indian Christian Network, the Festival of Praise Fellowship, the LoveSingapore church network and the National Prayer Alliance.

JDOP event is the largest multi-denominational Christian event in Singapore’s history and is part of a series of event to mark Singapore’s 50th year of independence. 51,000 were at the Singapore Sports Hub and there were many others who joined the online live streaming to celebrate this event with concerted prayer and thanksgiving to our Almighty God.

The President and his wife, 5 Cabinet Ministers, 3 Ministers of State, 8 MPs and their spouses attended this event in their personal capacities as Christians

Prime Minister Lee joined us as our special guest and was warmly welcomed by cheers and the waving of the national flag upon his arrival. The defining moment in this event was that 51,000 sang the Aaronic Benediction over our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Prime Minister Lee also gave a short speech acknowledging that the jubilee year is of biblical significance for the Christian community. He also paid tribute to the Protestant community’s contributions to nation building, particularly in the area of education.
