The Seminar on Copyright Laws 2014

Saturday 29 March 2014 Venue: South Transept of St Andrew’s Cathedral

The Seminar on Copyright Laws conducted by NCCS was held on 29 March 2014 at the South Transept of the St Andrew’s Cathedral. The panel of speakers led by our Chairperson Rev Dr Chua Chung Kai were Elder Jonathan Kok, Mr Soh Kar Liang and Mr Byran Tan. The sessions were well received by 140 participants from 60 churches of NCCS membership. Through their feedback, participants expressed deep appreciation to the clear and excellent presentations.

By the various speakers and gratefulness to NCCS for the publication and distribution of the simple booklet on “ A Guide to Copyright Laws” for music and video use in worship and Church events.

From the feedback forms collected, participants affirmed that the following objectives of the seminar were well met.

  • Basic Understanding of Copyright
  • What Constitute infringement and fair dealings from various scenerios in church setting
  • Clarity on Section 42 of the Act

We wish to take this opportunity to thank the Dean and staff of St Andrew’s Cathedral for the use of the ST hall for the event and all participants from the churches.
